Description, How to Apply, and Contact:

This is a Part-time, 24 hour/week, non-exempt, non-union position.

Responsible for all routine cataloging and processing of library print, non-print, and electronic-format materials.

Imports/creates bibliographic records and attaches local items.

Serves as auxiliary staff on public desks.

Maintains acquisitions records and liaisons with collection-development staff, publishers/vendors.

Edits bibliographic records and assigns Dewey classification numbers, subject headings, and multiple access points based on Library of Congress, Dewey classification tables, MINERVA and ALA conventions and protocols.

Enters into catalog database new print and non-print acquisitions

mOriginal cataloging experience necessary.

Withdraws items (in all formats) from the collection and the shared online database.

De-accessions and processes withdrawn items and arranges for their disposition.

Represents the library at consortium cataloging meetings and professional activities.

All other duties as assigned.

Hours are flexible during library's hours of operation. Mon - Thu: 8am to 8pm; Fri: 8am to 5pm; Sat: 8am to 12pm.

Requirements

Associate's Degree preferred

3 - 5 years of library experience

1 to 3 years of cataloging experience.

Salary:

Pay range NU11, in 10 steps: $17.26 to $22.22 per hour, depending on the skills and background of the candidate.
